Wildlife Tycoon: Venture Africa is a strategy game developed by PocketWatch Games. In fact, the game was developed by just one man, and as such, it is even more impressive. Don't get fooled by the Tycoon part of the name, this is not about making money out of animals. The game has much more depth than this. The side story is a bit off and doesn't quite show your purpose in the game, but you will find out more once you start playing. Your job is to create a stable environment in the African Serengeti. You initially buy animals that will populate an area of the ecosystem. They have food and water requirements. These animals will also sustain or consume other animals in your ecosystem. So it makes sense to balance their number depending on what they do. To have new animals in the ecosystem will consume your flowers, which you regenerate when they breed. When balancing the right amount of animals, you gain jewels. These help you make improvements in shrubs, trees, grass and rain. Venture Africa has a small problem though: you don't have any information on how many animals you have at a pack or at an area of the map. This is difficult, considering that the whole point is keeping a balance on the ecosystem.
